Dublin duo Lorcán McCarthy and Faustas Astrauskas are Obskür, a house duo forging a signature sound for themselves and becoming one of the breakthrough Irish acts of recent years. Since the return of events in 2021 they have been all over the UK and caught the eye of fans and artists alike. Here they make their Shall Not Fade debut with three sharp and diverse tracks, encapsulating their style and skill.

Evil EP kicks into immediate high intensity with the powerful beat and sidewinding 303s of ‘Pure Evil’, rave stabs and disconcerting vocals adding to the sensation that this track is chasing you down. The pressure is taken off the accelerator in ‘Home Interlude’, melting into the brief tranquility of this sax-driven house tune. The solid kick drum becomes more pronounced in the latter half, re-energising for the final track of the EP, ‘Possessions’. This is a reimagined classic house sound which is heavy on the diva vocals and keys, making for an infectious closer.

Evil EP drops 29th October via Shall Not Fade.
